U2 shooting documentary in Winnipeg?
#1
Saw this on the Pearl Jam forum this morning:

REPORT: U2 SHOOTING ACHTUNG BABY DOCUMENTARY IN WINNIPEG THIS WEEK

The city of Winnipeg is all abuzz over the sight of several trucks of U2 equipment being loaded into the Burton Cummings Theatre on Thursday.

There's no official word of what's happening, but CJOB radio says U2 is shooting a documentary to be called Achtung! with Davis Guggenheim, the man who helmed It Might Get Loud a couple years ago with The Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White. If that turns out to be correct, the documentary would presumably be included on the anticipated-but-not-yet-announced Achtung Baby re-issue/remaster that's expected later this year.

The Winnipeg Free Press says there's a "strong possibility" that U2 will be rehearsing and/or shooting a documentary at the theatre. CBC says they've only been told the facility is booked for a private event.

Ya they had camera crews down at the Bert. Buddy of mine drove by and said it was nuts.

I think they've also been doing dress rehearsals in a bunch of cities. Makes sense since there's like 3 nights between shows often times.

I was talking to my uncle who drives a limo for some high profile acts that come through Winnipeg (Leonard Cohen, some guys from the Eagles, Dane Cook for an example) and he drove Bono around for ~ 36 hours when he was in the city. He told me that he had to take the limo to get fitted for camera's and lighting equipment which took about 3 hours to do and that part of the up coming documentary was being filmed with Bono in the limo while he was being driven around. I'm not really a big fan of U2, but figured some of you guys would appreciate the info.
