No doubt this album could be a difficult listen. However, I'm not expecting 23 plaintive ballads. I don't know about bangers but I'm hoping for at least a few uplifting tunes so that there is not a homogeneity of sadness. In the end, I will take what I'm given and be damn happy to have it!

Appears the pre-order is live. I also was able to order a vinyl copy of the Grand Bounce (it doesn't list it as available on all pages, but is there at the bottom of the main merch page)

Tried pre-ordering through Gord's page as I was curious what shipping to the UK would cost for this displaced Canadian, and they only ship to Canada and the US?!? BOOOOOOOOO! I sure hope this thing appears on Amazon then.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was. Yes, he did paint the cover of the Grand Bounce.

I also noticed that he wrote "Introduce Yerself" on the hand - he said in interviews last year that he constantly had to write names down on his hand because of his memory loss.

Pre-ordered the vinyl. I can handle this being an inevitably "sad" sounding album. But I will admit - I often cannot handle listening to Secret Path because it's so sad.

I'm the same. It's a stunning piece of work, and I love it. But I have to be in a certain mood to listen to it all the way through. It's not an easy listen.

The title track and Here, Here, and Here are the worst for me.

Gord's voice on "Here, Here, and Here" sounds so beautiful. I wish he would sing like that more often.

I was listening in the car for a while but I've only spun the vinyl twice. Very heavy.

I've also only read the book once; I plan to go through it again at some point but it was very tough for me as well.
