Listening to Afterdark on CBC a few weeks back and learned of Lydia Ainsworth's "Darling of the Afterglow" album. I've had it in pretty heavy rotation since.
Albums you've recently rediscovered

Not really "rediscovered" as its an album I never ever forget about, but 45 years young today and still as fresh as ever......
If there is ever an album that MUST be listened to on vinyl with headphones on....this is it.

I'm of the belief that there is no better "sounding" album in existence. Despite all the advances in recording technology over the past 45 years, this one has yet to be topped.

Can't ever argue with listening to Dark Side.
It's sonic perfection was mentioned. I would also put Aja right up there with that. But moving along, tonight I rediscovered this gem

Brilliant album. I still remember having my mind blown when Lanois and his band performed at ARA '93. At the time I wasn't familiar with his first album "Acadie", and I really only knew him for his production work with U2 and Bob Dylan. Little did I know he was also a killer guitar player, singer, and songwriter. I ended up buying this CD the day after the show.

No wonder he produced The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. My biggest 'rediscovery' of the past 30 days... 54-40's self-titled 1986 release. It's been in heavy rotation ever since I picked up a copy on vinyl from The Record Center in Ottawa. 'I Wanna Know' is in contention for my song of the month!

They're playing 2 shows at the Commodore here in Vancouver in a few months with the Skydiggers opening. I'm thinking maybe I should treat myself to a nostalgia kick and buy some tix. As for this week, I've been getting reacquainted with this one over the last couple of days, thanks to Michael Barclay's book.
