Your first and last Hip shows?
#1

Wondering what everyone's first and last Hip shows they saw were...

My first show was the 1990 Courtcliffe Park show that had the debut of "Montreal" live...my last show, oddly (and sadly enough) was the February 2000 Montreal Bell Centre show that had the other live performance of "Montreal."

I need to get to another show...

I will not give up. My face is set,my gait is fast,my goal is heaven,my road is narrow,my way is rough,my companions are few,my guide is reliable,my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, diluted or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity,or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I will not give up,shut up or slow down....Blessed Be!

1st: Max Bell Centre, Calgary, 1992. I was still in high school. I remember it fondly. Fully Completely had just been released and the Hip had outgrown their club days and were now playing small arenas. Sons of Freedom opened the show (remember those guys?) and they were horrible. But an unbelievable performance by the Hip made up for it. The show was general admission and the mosh pit was absolutely nuts. I remember you could literally see a huge blanket of smoke hanging above the crowd from all the "Willie Nelson" being inhaled. Good times!

Latest show: MacEwan Hall, Calgary '06, during the World Container club tour. Fantastic show. They played Greasy Jungle. 'Nuff said.
