The mural story is a pretty well-known part of Hip lore, but I always thought there was something else to it. Something about the band living in an apartment building on the other side of the alley the mural was painted on, hence the "between us" being somewhat literal? Is there anything to this or did I dream it?

News to me. As I understood it, it is that "The Hip" live between Davis and his girl.

It sure was, and it was excellent. Also, the bootleg from the Copper Penny restaurant I got off of the hiptracker was great!

Yeah, that's the only info I can find. The odd thing is, I could have sworn I read the part about the band living on the other side of the alley at the Museum.

I recall he/Los Lobos did so as well during the 1997 ARA tour in Barrie (So Hard Done By)?

It would be great if the '97 Barrie show could get posted...it was my second Hip show. I've never heard it...vague memories of a long and hot day and great supporting acts (I wonder if any recordings exist for Wilco, MacIsaac, Los Lobos, Sexsmith...). First time hearing BobC.

I think I remember hearing something about them breaking up a few months after he left the Hip.

Ouch, thats too bad. I wonder when the last time The boys and Davis were in contact with each other, Id love to see them play a show together... a man can dream can't he?
