Rant Songs

Have they ever played Double Suicide (Highway Girl) or Killer Shark Tank (NOIS) live?

It would be a hoot to heard one on those live once they hit Ottawa.

Just curious.

They originated live from The Roxy way back when ('93 I believe) on the famous bootleg Roxy & Elsewhere.

Double Suicide, I believe, has been played a couple more times shortly after that appearance, but nothing has been heard of killerwhaletank.

And correct me if I am wrong.

Those were done live when they were originally recorded. They don't play anything from the EP anymore, so I wouldn't hope for Highway Girl. Gord still often rants during NOIS, but rarely repeats things verbatim.

You'll likely hear NOIS at your show, but I wouldn't count on him repeating a 15 year old rant.

This is an understatement.

Granted. I was trying not to be dismissive toward a newbie.

No apology required. I go back to 1989 at Barrymore's in Ottawa first seeing the Hip so likely "senior" to all you guys anyhow.

Just thought it would be a hoot hearing one of the rants.

I see that they've been dipping into the Road Apples album out west.

Hope to heard some of those songs in Ottawa on the 26th.

Hopefully you will. These "Evening With" tours are a great chance to hear some old rarities.

Last few tours I've heard every song I wanted to - at least once. All but Highway Girl, which seems very unlikely that they'll pull it out any time soon.

I suppose on the spectrum of the possible, this one would be near to us than the infinity of Double Suicide or Killerwhaletank, but this is still an understatement.
