I was wondering why there is so little info known about this tour when it was The Hip's first arena shows in alot of cities? It seems like there's hardly any setlists known. I was just wondering if anyone saw any of these shows what the sets were like (songs and lenghts) and what kind of crowds they drew in the arenas.
Also, what's the story about pot and Saskatchewen that people keep talking about?

I tried to go to the Saskatoon gig the night of the show, but they said it was sold out. My bro went and said the band was steamin. they didn't play Saskatchewan place, they played Centennial Auditorium actually. the FC tour wasn't their Arena tour, that was the DFN tour when they did exclusively arena'z., Me thinkz the Cowtown gig was at a place called the Max Bell centre, another puzzler is why the dint put Saskatoon on their tour shirt? They got some smoke delivered/couriered to them the day of the saskatoon gig,or day before, and a plain jane clothed Peace officer made the delivery, much to their chagrin. so ya the moral of the story is don't get pot delivered to you by courier. The date for the Saskatoon gig was Nov 25,92....cold night in the prairie it waz. That's a very good question and frankly, I've often wondered the same thing. I was at a Toronto show at Massey Hall in October of '92, if I recall correctly (it was 2nd year university, so everything is pretty hazy). FC had come out just a few weeks (or days) before. It was my third Hip concert and when I stumbled across Rory's website years ago I was hoping he had a boot, but no luck. The one thing that still stands out in my mind from that night was the reaction from the band when they first came onstage. I think they were very taken aback by just how fired up the crowd was to see them. I can't tell you much about the setlist (I think Looking started the show, and crowd went nuts for 50MC). But I do remember it was a great, great show, the atmosphere was outstanding, and it was one of the best concerts I've ever seen (despite not being able to remember much of it). I was at the Calgary Whiskey show this past Wednesday night, and it reminded me a lot about that night in Oct '92.

The first concert I saw, was at Richardson Stadium in Kingston it was in 1993, and I think it was in September. Richardson Stadium is where the Queen's Golden Gales play football. It was raining, p*iss pouring rain, but the headstones and the hip played all night long, Gord was in a white pjama outfit, soaking wet, I don't remember much but I do remember rocking out to a song called courage, and Gord was nuts, abslutley nuts!! Queen's at the time had a TV show called Studio Q which taped some footage. It was one of the most greatest, and most self defining nights of my life.

We still have Studio Q at Queen's. One of my goals this year is to riffle through the school's archives to see what gems I can get my hands on. I should have thought of this last year when one of my housemates was the exec producer of Studio Q.

I saw the Calgary show (November 2nd if I'm not mistaken). It was amazing! The Hip were right on the cusp of superstardom at this point and I remember posters up all over town advertising the gig with a caption at the top that said: "Even the scalpers are goin' to this one!"
It was classic. The mosh pit that night was the most insane thing I've ever experienced. It's no wonder the Hip don't go for that kind of thing anymore. It was dangerous. I remember it being really hot, and people up front were passing out left, right, and centre. Security were constantly hauling unconscious bodies over the barrier, and I think I got kicked in the head by body surfers at least 15 times. The show was great, but the crowd was way too intense for my liking.
These days everyone seems much more relaxed and laid-back at Hip shows, which makes it so much more enjoyable.
