Turn over the Tartan
#1

Just picked up a 24 of Keiths to help combat the heat-wave that has started here in Toronto (and southern Ontario), and it looks like Keith's is having a contest called "Turn over the Tartan", in which you peel off the neck's label & see if you've won....a variety of prizes are available.

Thought I'd start a thread for us Keith's drinkers, similar to the "Roll Up the Rim" thread started earlier this year.

Oh, and I'm 0/1 so far :thumb:

My best friend's grandparents own Moosehead. He'd be mad if I bought his number one competitor.

Pardon me for being so blunt, but may I say, that's a friendship you better not fuck up. Smile

Cheers,

We've never had a fight and we've been friends since Fifth grade.
except next year I'm going to Dalhousie University... and he's going to a quaint little school in Massachusetts known as "Harvard".

so I didnt win anything, but they did have nhl trivia questions on the back of the labels as well so it wasnt a total loss

Well I only had a few beers from the 24 last night before passing out on the couch watching the hockey game (had to turn to The Score to find out the outcome)

Ended up peeling off all the labels anyway.....

1/24 (won a Roots hat)

I have no bloody clue what you are all talking about.. You picked up 24 of Keiths tartan what?? Any you won a hat for doing so???

And Roots? Again no idea, but if you don't want the hat pass it along, my wife says I'm receding...
And what't the big deal in owning a moosehead? My mother had a stuffed dog for a while and we didn't find it that exciting.

Obviously a local custom no-one has told me about.
Over here the big competition is with Kit-Kat where you win a golden ticket to join the collection of freaks and morons in the big-brother house.

Alexander Keiths & Moosehead are Canadian brands of beer. Roots is a clothing company, and in Canada we call a case of beer a "2-4" (for 24 bottles)

Actually, it's not the same across Canada either!

Growing up in Halifax we called 12 packs "cases" and 24s 2-4s.

I moved to Ottawa 8 years ago, and learned that a "case" up here is 24 and a "12 pack" is 12.......

I prefer the Halifax way. Wink

Have to agree, I cant stand it. Im not a big fan of "Ale's" to begin with, I'd rather have a Moosehead.

Priceless
I've made the mistake of getting into Belgian beer, Leffe, Hoegaarden, tuvel (sp?)
Hurts the wallet but it is amazing beer. I can get by on most Canadian beers if it is there fort he taking, but I rarely buy it anymore.

Ill be sure to look over my shoulder from now on.. No offense to Keith's fans, just not my preferred brew is all, I wouldnt refuse a cold one on a hot day thats for sure. Personally I prefer the imports as well, particularly the German imports, those are my favorites.

Heineken
Stella
Hoegaarden
Red Stripe
Warsteiner
Krombacher
Holsten

As for Canadian beer, I prefer

SteamWhistle
Moosehead
"Canadian" Budweiser
