I'm making the hike from Nova Scotia. I was lucky enough to have turned my dad onto the Hip in the last year (since the box set came out, actually), and he's gotten the bug. This means that he went to the Phoenix night 4 show, which made me jealous and I mentioned to him that I wanted to go to one in Montreal. So he's picked up the tab and is flying me on points out to join him there Smile With my little brother, who's never been to a show - he's in for a treat!

So long story short, I'm extremely excited for this after seeing what they've been playing so far on this tour. What a perfect way to escape November for a little while!

I'm coming up from the Wash DC area for both shows. Anyone have any plans to meet up before either show? It's been awhile since I've been to Montreal so I haven't a clue what's around the Metropolis.

The venue is right on St Catherine street within walking distance to several bars and restaurants. Try and avoid the bars with the flashy neon lights, as they try to lure you with half-price drinks....you may not make it to the concert on time.

In all seriousness, I believe this venue is within walking distance from Place Des Arts, where the Hip played the last time they were in cold old Montreal.

the Place Des Arts show was in 2002, they been here since in 2004 at the Bell Centre and 2005 if you count Ste-Adele.

anyway, I'm gonna be there with my gf and my bro and his gf on Thursday. Can't wait to see them in this venue.

there are a handful of restaurants and bars/coffee shops in the area.

I'm in for both Montreal shows along with most of the Eurotrip members: DSTAR, dreyfuss, markslog, Astrope, and Dave H.

Chris it looks like 2006 is your big year. You're already up to 8 shows and counting, good job! :thumb:

My best was 6 or 7 in 2002, the IVL tour, what a great year I still look back with fond memories of chasing the band all over the province, it was a blast. I hope your cherishing every moment, actually Im surprised you havent documented your travels this year into a tour diary dvd of sorts.

How cool would that be for a amateur movie, a bunch of hard core Hip fans following the band across Canada and to Europe, having a blast and meeting the band. That would be a dream come true.

Imagine a world before the "beginning was the word.”

We documented all of the Euro adventure, and a "documentary" is in the works.

This year has certainly been a Hip year for me. The two shows in Montreal will be numbers 16 & 17 this year. And that puts me near the bottom of the list of the guys who went to Europe in terms of shows this year...

01. Belleville
02. Fort York #1
03. Fort York #2
04. London, England
05. Brugge, Belgium
06. Weert, Netherlands
07. Amsterdam, Netherlands
08. Utrecht, Netherlands
09. Stratford
10. CBC
11. Horseshoe
12. Phoenix #1
13. Phoenix #2
14. Phoenix #3
15. Phoenix #4
16. Montreal #1
17. Montreal #2
